This is a record of my father's return to Gals Klint Forest, near Middelfart Denmark, and the crash-site of W7531; he was first there at 02.10am on the morning of 18 May 1942. He had not been back for over 50 years until May 2002.

This special 60th anniversary memorial was his first real return visit to spend time seeing the area in which the MacRobert's Reply crashed, and to more fully understand the sequence of events that resulted in his survival; including many facts that have only recently been discovered since the inception of this web site and the incredible help that we have received in the research of this crash. Please see my 'Special Thanks' page for those acknowledgments.

Before I take you to the photo's of the Danish reunion, I want to acknowledge the incredible assistance granted to my father and I by Seaforths Travel, KLM Airlines, and Avis Car Rentals. When Seaforths first heard of the visit they immediately contacted their suppliers to try to assist in this venture. KLM UK aranged flights to Denmark, and Avis organised the transport while we there. In addition Seaforths arranged the accommodation and expertly sorted out insurance and currency for us.

To all these companies I extend both my own thanks and appreciation, but perhaps more importantly my father's personal thanks to the kindness of people he had never met, but who wanted to help him make this journey. It was a truly memorable trip, and an emotional one!
